Profile

Julien is a Senior Palliative Care Nurse at Parkway Cancer Centre. She is part of a holistic, multidisciplinary team providing support for oncology patients in home, inpatient and outpatient settings. She has a great passion and interest in palliative care, having personally observed and provided nursing care for several of her terminally ill relatives. Julien believes that good holistic care can greatly improve the quality of life in palliative patients. With that in mind, she hopes to be able to provide both symptomatic and emotional support for terminally ill patients and their loved ones, so that the patients’ last days can be lived out in a dignified and comfortable manner.

Julien graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic with a Diploma in Health Science with Merit (Nursing) in 2009. She went on to pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of Sydney in 2012. After joining PCC, her interest in palliative care continued to grow and she obtained a Specialist diploma in Palliative Care Nursing from Ngee Ann Polytechnic in 2014.

Julien started her nursing career in Changi General Hospital. She continued her nursing career at an Arthritis and Rheumatology specialist clinic for several years, where she served as a clinic staff nurse with numerous responsibilities. Her time there exposed her to variety of patients, allowing her to have a good understanding of the different needs that each individual patient has.

Julien has given multiple talks on the topics of pain, grief and bereavement to her fellow allied health colleagues, helping them to become better equipped to support their patients on their journeys.
